how to connect two external monitors to my W540 without a dock?

I am wondering is it possible to have two external monitors connect to my W540 without a dock?

Thanks,

The W540 supports up to three displays:

You can connect your external monitors using the VGA and miniDP ports on the left side of the Laptop (2, 3):

My monitors don't have the miniDP port. So I need to find a adapter. what type of the adapters should I get one, HDMI, VGA, or ...?

Thanks,

I use this mDP - VGA adapter cable:

I just found mime is a thunderbolt port unfortunatly. It seems miniDP is better than thunderbolt. Because with the miniDP I can plugin two monitors with a displayport hub.
