Hi paaland,
Welcome to Lenovo Forums.
A colleague of mine found this in one of the 3rd party forum.
Apparently they mentioned the iPad firmware get stuck while executing some application or commands. Therefore they recommended to reset the iPad.
Hope this helps.

Hm. I have already tried to turn the iPad completely off (hold power button in for 3 seconds and then confirm shut down). That did not help. Is that what is meant by reset, or do they mean a full factory reset which will also delete all my music, movies, apps etc? If so then I'm not interested in that solution ![]()

Hi every one,
I'm having the same problem. My laptop is t410. I changed the BIOS config, still not charging.
I tried all ports, and reset the iPad config still no luck.
The only time it will charge is when the laptop is switched off, and the iPad is plugged to the yellow port.
Any clue? My iPad is running the latest software 4.2.
Thanks for your help.

This tool made it work on my W500. Requires restart.

yep - that did it! The gigabyte motherboard utility did the trick - I can charge my iPad2 from the regular USB port, as well as the yellow USB port at the back

Cool!
I tried to charge the iPad on a Sony Z11 and the W520 - no luck.
Amazing that the utility works on a non-"Gigabyte" motherboard.
Is the "on-off-charge" utility safe to use on the Thinkpad?
