on screen display not working after "critical updates" installed today

today I installed these 3 updates:

 

Synaptics UlraNav Driver: 18.0.7.117

Lenovo Power Management driver: 1.67.14.05

Intel Management Engine: 9.1.45.3000

 

Installation of: Message Plus Uninstaller 1.1.0.0 was not sucessful.

 

I notice this evening that my OSD is not working (volume, brightness, caps lock and num lock) These functions work but just no display. 

 

I subsequently installed, just now:

 

Thinkpad Power manager: 6.68.15

Intel USB 3.0 Driver: 5.0.4.43

Realtek High Definition Audio driver: 6.0.1.8409

 

These further updates did nothing to remedy the problem

 

I am operating W7 Professional, 64-bit.

Have you tried reinstalling the appropriate version of the ThinkPad HotKeys Feature Integration package for the appropriate model of your unidentified ThinkPad?

Hi,

 

I'm running the same problem after last windows update (only crtitical and security updates).

Integration is not working anymore. 

 

Install Hotkey integration again does not solved the problem.

 

 

T460 on W7 pro 64

Where would I find this Hot Keys package, here on the Lenovo site?

 

Sorry, I thought I mentioned my laptop, but obviously not, just my OS; I have a 4-year-old W540.

 

The poster who also replied to this has almost the identical system to me, and the Hot Keys installation had no effect on his machine.

It seems to be a problem with the latest version of Power Management Driver.  To avoid the problem, follow these steps:

1.  Open Device Manager

2.  Expand "System Devices" category

3.  Double-click on "Lenovo PM Device"

4.  Click on "Driver" tab, and then click on the "Roll Back Driver" button.

 

I believe verion 1.67.14.4 is OK, but 1.67.14.5 is bad.

I just installed the Hot Keys utiliy and have partial success. The volume and screen brightness displays are working again, but the CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK displays are not. Also, my speaker mute key is working (did previously) but the microphone mut is perpetually on and won't turn off. 

I will try your suggestion about rolling back that driver and get back to you later today or tonight.

On my P50 with Win7 it appears that two of the lenovo services aren't starting.

'Lenovo Hotkey Client Loader' and

'Lenovo Microphone Mute'

If I start them manually from the windows services utility then everything works properly. However, when I restart the computer they don't start automatically.

Unfortunately my roll back driver button is greyed out.
