upcoming W510

2009-12-08, 9:13 AM

hopefully this time lenovo designs its workstation laptop with more intelligence. hope the designers know this, among other things:

DisplayPort:

  1. Designed to support internal chip-to-chip communication
    • Can drive display panels directly, eliminating scaling and control circuits and allowing for cheaper and slimmer displays
    • Aimed to replace internal LVDS links in notebook panels with a unified link interface
    • Compatible with low-voltage signalling used with 45 nm CMOS fabrication

Also, Apple decided not to use the upcoming new intel notebook processors for obvious reasons:

i think the W510 design have already been finalised, since the launch is only a couple of months away.

this is exciting: the new calpella paltform that is (99%sure) in the new models (W, T) uses displayport to drive the lcd panel of the notebook's screen:

Was a reason given for your cancellation?  I also have an order for a W510 and it has not been cancelled...maybe for a specific part?

I'm really interestet in the W510. the W500 was inacceptable because of missing LED backlight and the missing luminace of the sceen. finally nealy the whole spec is awesome except taking responsibility and eliminating harmfull components like led, bromine.

BUT why doesn't inform LENOVO its customers about availability? They lounch the specification and even start offering the W510 for sale. a few days later the link is a dead end. does LENOVO think potential customers are stupid or worthless to communicate to? I'm disapointed.
