This is strange.

I called Lenovo Support, they indicated that my Yoga 15 is digitizer enabled, something that needs to be setup in the Bios... after 12 tries getting into the Bios I could not find anything about enabling the digitizer.

I too am confused

What is the model from this list - specifically does it show as Pen enabled here?

I have the Yoga 14 purchased at BestBuy.  I am not sure why the Lenovo support would talk about the Bios settings.  In order for the Active Pen to work, you would also need the drivers and the proper screen.   If you do not see the Wacom icon under the Control Panel, then I am pretty sure that changing the Bios will not work.   It seems like a very strange way to "activate" the pen.

think I am just going to check the control panel for wacom pen icon, if it ain't there then going give up.  And here I thought buying the Yoga 15 over and above the Yoga 13 would have been an improvement.  seems my mates 13 is still smarter and more user friendly.

I contacted customer support about 3-4 times since january, They always said next month it will be available.

Is there no manager reading these messages, yoga 15 still advertising-promising active pen, but not available for sale since yoga 15 is announced.  So can we call this fake advertisement ? or wait for the none coming next month.

Hope they realize that this is starting to get ridicules...

Lenovo har been advertising with the "optional Active Pen support" since February and there is still not a thing. It's to the point of false advertising and people are getting quite angry in the forums.

Over 17 pages of post on your official forums and not a single official response.

My advice lenovo: if you can't get it done, remove the "optional Active Pen support" and replace it with an apologetic text of regret and defeat. At least then we can start looking at other products.

I am holding off buying and am currently renting instaid, because this product would be perfect with the pen and dedicated graphics for me as a production designer. (CAD support) My biggest fear is investing in new equiptment and the "active pen" version will become available after the fact.

Just sent this to both support and the PR manager for Lenovo. Lets se if they respond.

Response from lenovo...

---------------------------------------------------------------------

"Thank you for contacting the Lenovo Online Store.

The reason we cannot offer optional Active Pen support is the screen part, which is compatible with the Active Pen in the 15.6' size is not available and cannot be sourced at the moment, hence the delays.

However the 14' model does come with Active Pen as standard"

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The 14" would be fine if it only had a dedicaded graphics card. Also the 16 gb ram is a big pluss.

Other then that the 14" is a more convenient size, but I'm worried that my CAD 3D design tool won't run that well on intel HD and 8 gb of ram. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Has anyone gotten their hands on a 14" modle with pen support?

If you are willing to wait (and hopefully,  unlike the TPY15s delivery of full scale products they can achieve production status) there is the 14" ThinkPad Yoga 460 coming out at the end of October. It comes with a better screen, active digitizer stylus (not Apple's "pencil" - sorry, I've been waiting to throw that one out there) and a fingerprint reader for simpler sign-on. I've not seen the full specs, but it's at least got to be on par with the current 14s - hopefully better.

The only hope is that they actually deliver on the timeline. Like others on this forum, I've waited since the announcement of the TPY15 with active digitizer AND the RealSense camera, but I don't believe that they're going to deliver on the announced product. I really wanted the 15, especially with the dedicated numeric keypad, but I think I've given up and may be just as happy with the 14" 460.

Remarkably, I see nothing mentioned about the RealSense camera going forward.

My only issue may be that the active pen in the 460 isn't going to be a full sized pen which really irritates me as the existing pen that comes with the original TPY is uncomfortable for constant use.
