Lenovo Yoga 510 14-IKB Using Keyboard in the Convertible Mode

2021-04-07, 15:13 PM

Hi,

I've just bought a second screen for my homeoffice and want to use the keyboard from the Yoga Notebook as regular keaboard (see image below) but everytime I wrinkle the notebook it switches in the tablet mode with touch-keyboard. May anyone help me? :-)

Thank you!

Hi, Marten.

Might have a look at this thread for some services and settings you can disable that might work. EDIT: Looks like @Lorenzo_Lenovo beat me to this part. Apologies.

Personally, I'd recommend a cheap wireless external keyboard. That's what I use with my 910. The advantage: if I spill something on the keyboard, drop it or if one of my parrots picks off some keys when I'm not looking, it's an easy repair job. If not, I'm only out twenty bucks. Similar damage to your 510 could be catastrophic.

Even a more expensive keyboard is still cheaper to repair or replace than a whole laptop. Some of them even have more bells and whistles than the 510 does. Even my cheap keyboard has shortcut keys for media controls, the browser, calculator ..even a button to shut down the computer without having to leave the sofa or use a mouse to shut down via Windows.

Just a suggestion.

Doc

Hey & thank you for the quick answer.

Can't find it in my German notebook version.

Do you see some that looks familiar to you? (screenshot below)
