My Lenova Thinkpad Yoga 260 Mac address keep changing every time I reboot my device

2017-11-19, 17:20 PM

My Lenova Thinkpad has new Mac address every time I reboot my device.

I do not  have any Virtual Private Network (VPN) or gateway access software installed on my laptop that causes this.

Do you have any idea about this problem?

Do you have random hardware addresses turned on?

Start-> Settings (the gear icon) -> Network & Internet -> WiFi

(image shows what this looks like on my machine)

It can also be enabled just for a specific network.

Start-> Settings (the gear icon) -> Network & Internet -> WiFi->Manage Known Networks

Select a network, then Properties, and then make sure it is turned off under use random hardware addresses.

Is it causing problems?  I suggest reading this:

The solution didn't work for my Ideapad320. I can turn it off but when I reboot, IT'S BACK ON!

I use a wifi monitoring program that reports my laptop as an unknown computer logged on to my network. Dang frustrating

Your system type is very different to the one which is the subject of this 3+ year old discussion, I would suggest posting in the appropriate board for your system type and detail the issue you are experiencing along with the exact system type number and any steps you have so far taken to mitigate the issue.
