Re: Switch ThinkPad Yoga Clickpad with new TrackPad

2015-09-09, 21:14 PM

Hey Friends!

This looks very promising! However, does anyone have a moment to help clarify this a bit for me for my specific Thinkpad please?

I have the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga which I replaced the touchpad with the amazing, wonderful, awesome touchpad with physical buttons. So I believe I can follow one of the methods listed here, but my question is which driver to I use to do this for the original Thinkpad Yoga with updated touchpad?

Also, those who have gotten this to work on Windows 10... you have all the features you want? Including Middle-Button Scroll when using the TouchStyk in all applications including Metro Apps / Windows 10 Universal Apps?

Thanks so much for any help anyone can provide!

Thinkpad users are the best!!

Later,

 - S

The drive file used here is the one in the official lenovo's support page.

The link to the file is https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1cgx11w.exe

All features are working well.

Here is another method. Sorry. ;)

1. Install the original driver in a normal way.

2. Install this reg file. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16498102/new_touchpad.reg

3. Reboot.

mazansm, everything is working for me. even scrolling in metro environment.

i recommend the very last method as the driver will then be safe from windows' 10 incessant auto driver updates.

Yes, the registry file will give the same effect as adding the two AddReg.

:smileyhappy:

Finally!! After getting my first Thinkpad which I had been wanting for a long time, and then hating the new touchpad, and then replacing it with an amazing touchpad with buttons all for Windows 10 to come out and it doesnt middle-click scroll for me! I am now working 100% as well on an Original Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga with swapped out touchpad with physical buttons!

A special thanks to esrevinu (who I believe provided this excellent working solution [I apologize if I'm wrong about that]) and thinkpadfreak for your help and comments. It is greatly appreciated! Finally I can work on Windows 10 now without getting off-track looking for a fix for the touchpad. Haha.

Thanks again everyone! You guys are the best!

I'm trying to get any of these solutions to work on my 2015 TPY 14, at this point, n1cgx11w wont install (no synaptics device detected) so I went back to the default drivers for now,

however there was at some point success in having a responsive middle click but not two finger scrolling.... at this point I tend to do 3d work with a separate mouse so it's preferable to have the lack of a middle click to the lack of a scrolling touchpad... however I would like to see if I can get the all inclusive solution some people here have managed to get.

so.. help?

I think you're at the wrong thread. Everyone here is using the 2013 Thinkpad Yoga (or some older models with the buttonless clickpad) with DIY switching of our trackpads. Yours comes with the trackpad by default.

Re: Switch ThinkPad Yoga Clickpad with new TrackPad

Hi,

I have tried everything I can think of and can't get the physical buttons to work.  I have the following:

Thinkpad Yoga (original) and I replaced the trackpad with a new pad that fits perfectly.

I originally had Windows 10 installed and the physical buttons didn't work with any solution inluding the last with the .reg file.  They also didn't work with no driver installed.

So I reinstalled Windows 10 from scratch and tried again with all the solutions and nothing worked.

Finally I tried to install Windows 7 and I installed the driver n10gx25w and still nothng.

My main issue is the trackpad physical buttons have never done anything and I am concerned I am missing something of have a defective part.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

b1n9
