Re: Switch ThinkPad Yoga Clickpad with new TrackPad

Can you describe the exact version of this mentioned Intel Chipset driver? (a link would be the best)

Actually I'm using T450 trackpad in my Thinkpad S440. In this case I have to use the latest official driver for this "trick"?

Thanks!

The Chipset link for win 8.1 is:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility-

Works for Windows 10 as well, but again, you need to make sure to not have the Synaptics SM bus controller installed Or you will have to uninstall it first..

Is there a registry key that we can change to make the driver use the correct touchpad version? There has to be a way since TP Yoga uses the same touchpad drivers as the newer thinkpads with the physical trackpoint buttons.

Synaptics have released their new standard windows 10 driver and I installed it with the drive select option in the device manager. The touchpad works flawlessly now and all keys are functional and it even works with the SMB port now instead of the PS/2 port. 3 finger gestures work too although there are no more 4 finger gestures.
The stickpoint works suboptimal though. The middle button works like a simple middle mouse button which can be annoying to scroll with and the accuracy of the stick is noticably lower than with the lenovo driver.
I definitely recommend this driver for people who like to use the touchpad more and the stickpoint only ocasionally.

You're the Man! :)

This driver works perfectly to me (ThinkPad S440 with new T450 trackpad) - now the scrolling in Opera with the middle button is 100% OK!

(Windows 10 PS/2 and SMBus Devices v19.0.19.1)

Thanks again! :smileywink:

I installed the latest driver(n1cgx11w.exe) in the following way.

It is working perfectly with physical buttons.

Run n1cgx11w.exe and only extract files without installation.

Edit x64/SynPD.inf under the folder to which the driver is extracted.

Find LEN0042 and in those lines, replace 'GROUP**' with 'GROUP39'.

Save the file.

Restart by command in cmd: shutdown /r /o /f /t 0 (other method: Hold shift down and click restart)

Select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart

In restart, select option 7.

Go to the folder to which the driver is extracted.

Run setup.exe.

Re: Switch ThinkPad Yoga Clickpad with new TrackPad

Hi!

Can I ask a little help?

My system is ThinkPad S440 - I replaced the original touchpad for HW ID# "LEN2000" (3 buttons T450 version).

My latest official driver is: j3gb05ww.exe

Synaptics UltraNav Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad S440, S540
version 19.0.12.61 Date: 7/9/2015

How can I change the mentioned SynPD.inf in my system?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,

Chris

I tried a different method.

Instead of changing GROUP, I added or removed some AddReg's in sections, LENOVO_GROUP24_InterTouch_Win8_Inst and LENOVO_GROUP24_InterTouch_Win8_1_Inst.

Removed AddReg are

AdjustLeftRightEdgeSwipeZoneSettings_LEN0042_AddReg,

2FGestureRetryInButtonZone_AddReg.

Added AddReg are

AdjustStickMethodAndSpeedFactor_AddReg,

Set_3P2BCP_Feature_AddReg.

This was successful.

Chris,

Please try this:

Download https://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles/n1cgx11w.exe and extract it.

Open SynPD.inf and add

AdjustStickMethodAndSpeedFactor_AddReg,

Set_3P2BCP_Feature_AddReg

into sections

LENOVO_GROUP13_InterTouch_Win8_Inst and LENOVO_GROUP13_InterTouch_Win8_1_Inst.
