ThinkPad Edge S430 not powering on correctly after sleep/hibernate/power off

2018-08-29, 18:11 PM

Hi,

An old S430 is having issues after it goes to sleep, hibernate or even turn off. The red led wil blink and fan will start, then turn off. And repeat. Shut-down has to be forced pressing the power button for 10 seconds and after that it will boot without any problem.

The issue doesn't present if you restart the device.

I tried updating drivers, BIOS, running Windows and Lenovo's Update, disabling and enabling a lot of different devices, disabling fast start-up, checking Windows from issues with /scannow and even reinstalling Windows from scratch. Always the same with no change. There isn't any special system event logged.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

No? NOTHING? Really nobody has any idea or had some similar scenario? O.o

I'm baffled. In this case I certainly don't want to feel special, LOL

Any, ANY idea is going to be welcomed. The notebook works fine -- except for that. I would like to continue having it in service...

Cheers.
