I wrote to Lenovo asking how an order placed nearly two weeks after mine has already shipped.  I recieved a response stating that shipment dates are only estimates and that I may recieve mine earlier.  What a bunch of BS!

I understand how that would be frustrating.  It could be differences in the config, with yours being held for parts or some other issue.  Did you configure in an AV software like McAffee or Norton perhaps?

It appears that some of the twist systems are shipping out.  Checking with our sales team, the general guidance is that there were some component constraints, but we are building and shipping all those which we can, and we expect to clear up the back log by 12/27.  I understand that some of these may have been ordered for the holidays, so I apologize to those who may be affected.  I'm told that emails have been sent to advise these customers.

 

There was also a second situation that affected orders which included McAffee / Norton and some of these orders may need to be rebooked.  Affected customers should have received an email last week.

 

I would advise customers to check with our sales support to address order specific concerns.

I sent you an email.

My issue stems from Norton. It is absolutely ridiculous that Lenovo never raised this issue over the course of the past 5 weeks. You would expect a company like Lenovo to contact customers immediately when an issue is identified with various options on how to proceed. I would have gladly changed my choice of antivirus if it had meant my order would have been processed on schedule. Rebooking the order just means additional delays.

My order shipped yesterday. I am still displeased with Lenovo customer service, but I am really looking forward to their products.

FYI - I had an order date of 12/06 and just shipping this morning too according to UPS.

 

Does anybody know the transit time from China to Canada (roughly)?

Sorry, I misread, just the port replicator shipped. I'm now pushed back by another 2 days until Dec 21

For the shipping time to canada, mine was shipped december 10 arrived in montreal, Qc friday 14 in the morning but it's waiting "Shipment pending release from clearance agency." since then. Call Lenovo 2 time so they get it out of customs. Should be within 24h by now...

 

So if everything go well it will be in your city in one week.

I had the same issue. I ordered based on  the estimated shipping date that salesman gave me. If I knew it is going to be postponed several times, I would not place the order.

I also called several times: very polite people but clueless. Often times provide false information. For example, I was told on Friday that my laptop will be shipped either tonight or by Monday. Ship date was delayed at lease three times after that call. I called twice to cancel my order, but they promised there will be no delay and they added $50 discount. Big Lie on both accounts.

 

After receiving my computer I went to Lenovo website for driver update, and found out the my model number it is even in their database (more wasteful calls to tech support but no use).

 

I have never seen such a behavior in my 20+ years experience of buying computer.

Hopefully my final update here.  Called the center this morning, was told the real date is Dec 28th but ended up getting a shipping notice this afternoon (Dec 20th).

 

All-in, only took ~2 weeks to ship, but one of the most frustrating buying processes I've had since...well...I last ordered the X61T 5 years ago.  If Mark remembers, he helped me track down that machine too.

 

Hope this thing lives up to the hype.

On 12/18, I recieved an email stating that my long lost DVD-burner had finally been re-shipped.  In the same email they informed me that the actual laptop had been cancelled because Norton antivirus was unavailable. 

 

Fast forward to today, Lenovo rep called to rebook order.  Got 10% off the laptop, warranty upgrade for free and a free Lenovo briefcase.  They even threw in expedited shipping for free.  So let's see how all this works out. 

 

All this seems to have happened after I wrote to Mark.....thanks Mark!
