ThinkPad Yoga 14 (20FY) Ignoring Win 10 Sleep Mode Settings

2017-11-16, 0:48 AM

While I like most things about my Yoga 14 notebook, it has this annoying habit of going to sleep about 1 minute, even when it's plugged into a OneLink+ docking station.

I have the OS updated to the latest Windows 10 Creator's Edition and all device drivers up-to-date.   It's done this since I bought the machine earlier this year and I haven't been able to figure-out how to get it to honor the sleep settings in Windows.   Is there a BIOS setting or something that is forcing it to go to sleep after 1 minute?

I finally resolved this issue using "Solution 2: Fix the problem by editing your registry" in the following blog post:

https://appuals.com/windows-10-sleeps-after-1-4-minutes-of-inactivity/

My laptop finally stays awake longer than 2 minutes.  I'll have to do some experimentation to figure-out if the normal Windows 10 sleep settings will override the recommended settings changes from the blog post or not.

The large print: please read the Community Participation Rules before posting. Include as much information as possible: model, machine type, operating system, and a descriptive subject line. Do not include personal information: serial number, telephone number, email address, etc.

The fine print: I do not work for, nor do I speak for Lenovo. Unsolicited private messages will be ignored - questions and answers belong in the forum so that others may contribute and benefit. ... GeezBlog

Can't Update Lenovo to latest version.

2021-01-05, 19:04 PM

Hi there, I am unable to install latest updates on my Lenovo ThinkPad and also there's an error message which is saying that “There were problems downloading some updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this, try searching the web or contacting support for help. This error code might help: (0x8024a105).”, even I reboot my laptop two times but nothing changed.

If anyone is viewing this question then please reach me out ASAP.

Your post doesn't likely belong in this three year old thread.

Please let us know what model ThinkPad you have so we can move this post to the appropriate location.

Z.
