Betreff: Thinkpad Yoga - Digitiser has inaccurate area

2013-12-02, 11:55 AM

One problem is solved another is found!

The one big inaccurate area in the right is eliminated but there are still problems with the accuracy in other areas! Its not so inaccurate at it was before, but still not bearable!

For example: If you try to write lines (like in the first post) in WINDOWS READER (pdf) there is a big inaccuracy! :(

Please Lenovo - make a better update!

Question: Does the "new" Yoga only have this update or is the problem solved in a different way? Does anybody know?

last night I noticed that the righthand side of the screen bezel (the portion on the outer edge of the laptop) had a sharpness to it that the lefthand side did not.  When I looked at it closely, I could see that what was happening was a tiny gap had opened between the front and back panels of the bezel on the righthand side of the screen.  A similar process is underway along the top of the screen.

I've had the computer only two weeks, so this worries me - I've been careful with it, haven't dropped it, etc. - it seems that this bezel separation's starting awfully fast.

Is anyone else noticing this?  On my x220, there's something similar going on but the machine's two and it's actually been dropped once, about three feet onto concrete and landed edge-on.  The bezel was gapped when I picked it up, snapped back into place just fine and doesn't worry me.  So seeing gapping start at 2 weeks concerns me about the longevity of this computer.

That gab in the screen really sounds ALARMING.

I hope thats not a weakness in design of the housing. With my last notebook I had too much trouble with such an issue.

I got my TP Yoga today. Can't report that gab yet, but my "Pos1" Button got broken on the first day. =(

How can I calibrate the digitizer?

Have you tried to calibrate the digitizer after you updated the firmware to see if that will improve things for you?

I´ve already calibrated it.

Here is a video of the inaccuracy (especially at the edge, but also in other areas): Thinkpad Yoga Digitizer Problem

And here is a picture:

Wow, that looks bad. Are you sure you've calibrated it right? Talked to the support yet?

Nevermind, don't try. The german support on the Yoga is horrible. I was sent forth and back around four times because they couldn't decide if the Thinkpad Yoga is an Ideapad or a Thinkpad.

Yeah, Í´ve calibrated many times -> with windows and with the wacom device driver. There´s no difference.

I´ve talked to the horrible support in about 20 minutes. I got a new pen but the same with this one.

Then my best guess would be that your display is faulty. Another user on nbr reported awesome accuracy, stating it would be better than a Surface Pro.

Before I`ve downloaded die bios update to fix the "black hole" the accuracy was fine (except the black hole area). After the update i got these problems at the edges. (My Yoga came with Win 8.1 maybe thats a problem?)

It looks like a softwareproblem for me.

Well, that's strange, I'm out of ideas then. Any Lenovo admin or someone who can say something about that? Sorry.
