Finally, thank you! Unfortunately, I won't be able to submit my machine, as I'm returning it this week for a refund. I hope that someone who is past the point of being able to return theirs will submit their info/machine. Please keep us updated as to what is going on with this process as it occurs.

Additionally, I think we need to continue to hear from affected customers who are experiencing this watermarking/image retention/ghosting. In order to get anything accomplished, the pressure needs to be maintained. A single investigation shouldn't suffice, when what is needed is a mass statement and solution.

I sent a private message to Cleo_Lenovo (see page 5 of this thread), I encourage everyone with this issue to do so.
This device is so expensive yet the screen is rubbish.

This is unexcusable. 

This issue has been apparent with Dell and Apple, shouldn't it have been wise for Lenovo to take note and avoid LG!

I just PM'd  Cleo as well with my details, even though I will be returning my Thinkpad this week. I hope Lenovo issues a revision soon, but I suspect it will be too late for me. I need a computer now, and I've decided that another Lenovo is too risky; I'll be going with a Macbook Pro instead. Best of luck for those affected!

Does Lenovo have no shame?

The Thinkpad Yoga is priced at a premium and contains a rubbish screen.
Only after a week I started noticing the screen image retention.

The Lenovo engineering team should fix it.  

 

There's somthing extremely shady and dubious about a companingy selling a premium priced product with terrible build and no concern about fixing the problem.

 

Recall the machines and fix it.

Lenovo should be active about correcting this issue.  The only people who submited info to Cleo_Lenovo are the very few people who visit this forum.  Your not getting the full number of the affected machines.

 

I have the model with the wacom digitizer and its affected, I assume all model with  the digitzer have this issue.  Not just the few who visit this thread.

I just got an interesting call from Dell. It was about my XPS 12 which I had sent back in November because of ghosting / image retention. They did not know that i had returned my machine. But now the really interessting part. They addressed my ghostin problem and offered me a screen replacement with a fix which is now available. So it could be that Dell has a solution. Ok it's got them over a year, but finally maybe a solution.

So will Lenovo also need over a year? Or is Lenovo not even aware of this problem which shows up on many (mayba all) 12.5 LG screens since 2011?

It good to hear that DELL is taking RESPONSIBLITY and mending the situation. 

 

What say you Lenovo? Both companies used the same shody screen and yet it is DELL who is making things right. DELL is leading by example and here you are, Lenovo, avoiding any response other than sending Cleo_Lenovo to do some superficial collection of information.

 

It seems like Levono is going to:

1: Play victim and plead utter ignorance on the quality of screen purchased from LG despite the fact Dell and Apple have had problems with it before.

2: Blame LG for selling them the displays 

3: Blame, punish, and laugh at the consumer for purchasing the Thinkpad Yoga for USD $1500+ in the first place.

4: correct the situation and replace the screen now!

 

I assume Lenovo is doing the first 3 options.
