Re: WiFi connectivity issue - ThinkPad Twist

I actually have the same router at home but the disconnect only happened once when at home, as opposed to everyday at work (unless I manually switch the encryption mode from AES to TKIP, which seems to solve it, almost!).

The only difference I can see between the 2 networks is that at the office there are 4 PC's and 4 smartphones connected to the router, while at home there is only 1 PC and 2 smartphones.

Any other network I've connected to worked fine, but I've only been connected to those for a few hours at a time, which is irrelevant, since the office network could work fine for hours, and then would keep disconnecting (losing packets) out of the blue..

Lenovo Thinkpad Twist S230U i5 3317U 4GB 500GB+24GB SSD 12.5IN

I got this ultra book 2 months ago, And every since the first day I got it, I have similar problem with the WIFI like everybody here. Disconnect, page in IE doesn't load very offen...etc. But I still able to connect to the internet and use it.

Since two days ago, the Twist WIFI finally totally stop working at all. But all my other electronic device WIFI still working. Please advice what step should I do next?, Thanks very much.

I have a thinkpad twist equipped with intel n2230

When running Ubuntu 12.10 from the ssd I've never experienced any issues with both bluetooth and wifi enabled at the same time. On Windows 8 however, wifi drops so often, that I'm now using a usb adapter permanently.

This makes me about 99% sure it's a windows 8/intel driver issue. I'm using this notebook since its release and have tried every intel driver available, but without any result.

I've considered replacing the network card, but since it works fine on ubuntu I see no reason why this should resolve the issue.

has anyone tried Windows 7 already?

Lenovo Twist S230U 3347-4HU.

Problem with WIFI as soon as finished setting up.  Problems:

- Won't connect to WPA, WPA2 - enterprise at work.  It is not because to the configurations.  I use the wireless at work dailty.  Also the same configurations work fine with the Digitus USB wireless adapter.

- Randomly dropped connection at home and randomly slow right down to about 1Mbs.

Trouble shooting:

- Tried Everything possible using my own experience,

- Tips/ tricks found on the net, including this fourms,

- Tried drivers from HP, Dell; for Windows 7, etc ... none works.

What the H*** wrong with Lenovo now!  It's supposed to work out of the box.!!!

I would appreciate anyhelp from anyone to resolve this.

Thanks.

yesterday, a bluetooth driver update and 2 others appeared through the lenovo driver update application. After installing, I was able to disable Bluetooth which had a surprisingly positive effect on WiFi performance. Since then I haven't had any connection drops.

I'll keep on trying today and try to keep you posted

I just checked the Lenovo site.  No new drivers for either WLAN or Bluetooth (broadcom).  Where does your laptop pull the drivers from?

Go to the start screen and type "system update". There's an app called System Update (by Lenovo).

matthijsbos. Probably not the issue but anyone thinking of replacing the wifi card should be aware that, last time I looked, only the Intel and Broadcom cards supplied with the Twist are whitelisted, meaning any attempt to install a different card prevents the machine from booting up at all.
