bobblevins, Very interested that a new card resolved your issues. Can you give more details? I exchanged my Twist at the store but the replacement laptop has the same issue. What wireless card did you originally have and which one did they send you? Do you have the part number for the one they sent you? Do you happen to have your Lenovo case # so I could reference it if I end up calling lenovo support again?

Hi All,

Has everyone with this issues checked their system against the Intel specifications just to be sure...?

Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230

All,

I'm reading through this thread...

https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/T400-T500-and-newer-T-series/T530-wifi-problem-WAN-Miniport-Network-monitor-2-problem/td-p/934283

And note that it sounds somewhat similar in terms of Wifi drops and since multiple models are being reported and all under Win 8, this may not be a twist hardware issue.    I'm wondering if this occurs always out of box, or following some Windows updates?

Does everyone here also have the yellow bang in device manager as described in the other thread?  If so, perhaps these are the same issue which could help us narrow this down a bit.

Mark

I began noticing this issue almost immediately with this laptop since the beginning of December. I can't say for sure what Windows updates have been added since the factory install. I have Windows set to install updates automatically. Unlike several in this thread I have the Thinkpad (Broadcom) card and not the Intel Centrino. I do not have any warnings/exclamations in Device Manager. Also to note, the wireless signal icon on the system tray always shows full bars and does not "disconnect" from the wifi network. It drops packets, web pages time out and the throughput gets extremely low. Sometimes I have to put it into airplane mode to get it back, other times it comes back on its own within a minute or so. This happens repeatedly in the course of an hour or so of web browsing.

For thos of you experiencing the wifi drop, are you letting windows manage your wireless connections, or are you using the Intel PROSet software for that?  I should be getting my Twist tomorrow or Thursday.  I'm asking because i've used quite a few thinkpads over the years (using an old one right now in fact) and have had this issue before.  With this machine it used to happen every few minutes or even less.  That is, until I allowed the Intel PROSet to handle my wireless connections.  Hasn't dropped once since I made that change.

I'm afraid I have the dropped connection issue both with and without Intel PROSet software.

Hi dmckenzies,

Installing Intel's latest driver that you suggested really solved the connectivity problem for me.  Thanks.

A kudo for you.
