Wireless N on AC-7260

2014-06-13, 9:05 AM

hi All,

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga with a Intel Dual Band-AC 7260 adapter installed.  When I bought the product my understanding was that it would support 802.11a/b/g/n/ac however when I look at the adapter settings I see only up to 802.11a/b/g (see attached)802.11.JPG

I phoned Thinkpad tech support who advised my to factory reset (not helpful) but rather than this does anyone know of a fix/driver update?  To factory reset is not convenient at all is it is my work device and setup as I need it.

I am frustrated as it looks like I have bought a product from Lenovo but it doesnt meet the specification which is a trades description matter.

regards

Stve

Re: Wireless N on AC-7260

Wireless-N is called "HT Mode" on 7260. Setting "HT mode" to "VHT Mode" means "N & AC" mode (a/b/g/n/ac). "HT mode" only means N mode (a/b/g/n). Disabled means a/b/g mode. Wireless mode is basically band frequency on and off switch (802.11a = turn off 2.4 GHz band while 802.11g = turn off 5 GHz band while 802.11b = 802.11b only (no g/a/n/ac) while 802.11 a/g means 802.11b is disabled (a/g/n/ac) while 802.11 a/b/g means exactly what it is (a/b/g/n/ac).

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply which is well explained.  I'm still not sure however if I have the solution as it was set to VHT but I still cannot connect to either a n or ac network.  Also even though it was set to VHT the Wirless mode setting still said a/b/g only and not a/b/g/n/ac as I would have expected.
