#firstworldproblem - ThinkPad Yoga logo sticker peeled off!

2014-08-21, 9:51 AM

I am a proud owner of a ThinkPad Yoga -- but in recent days the front sticker has peeled off:

Calls to Lenovo support have resulted in this crap being sent out instead of the ThinkPad logo:

Can someone please tell me what is the FRU for the ThinkPad sticker, so I could quote it to tech support again?

Did anyone ever get an answer on this?

I just bought a ThinkPad Yoga 12, used. Out of warranty, obviously.

I LOVE the functionality.

But I had to find the rubber feet (which I did and just ordered) And I would like to find the sticker.

I have never seen them sold separately from Lenovo.  On some models, they used to be included with a "Miscelaneous Parts Kit", but thet was expensive, contained a lot of other stuff, and didn't always have what you needed.  If you search eBay for "Thinkpad logo sticker", you will find some, but there are MANY sizes and shapes.

Yes, I've looked all over ... and seen them at various sizes.

I wonder if this one is right ...

but I don't want to pay $18 and wait two weeks to find out.

I took a chance and bought the logo stickers on EBay that were listed as being for:

ThinkPad X240 T530 W530 T520 W520 LOGO ThinkPad Sticker

... Because they were cheap and, by my measurement, really, really close to being the right one.

And I am happy I did. It might be  tiny bit off ... a small fraction of a millimeter short, on height ... but that could also be just how I stuck it on. See attached photo.

This helped me too
