It seems the device does not support the AES-NI instructions, even though Intel states the CPU should - http://ark.intel.com/products/85214/Intel-Core-i7-5500U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz?q=Intel%20...
I've used HWiNFO to confirm AES-NI is indeed disabled. I am using BIOS 1.16, which is the latest.
Would we get an update that enables AES-NI? It is extremely useful if you do full disk encryption!
Machine model is 20DQ.

Nope. As far as i can tell this is intentional - probably another form of control ;-)
It won't happen. There are some custom BIOSes made by russian geeks that enable AES-NI back again for older Lenovo laptops.

How to I enable the AES-NI instruction set for my Yoga 15?
I have the i7 model and Intel Ark indicates that the CPU does have that instrucion set. http://ark.intel.com/products/85214/Intel-Core-i7-5500U-Processor-4M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz
They also say that some manufacturers need to update the BIOS to enable it. See above link.
