Blackscreen after restart Windows 10 64 bit on ThinkPad Yoga 12

Hello,

 

a blackscreen occurs on my ThinkPad Yoga 12 whenever I restart Windows 10. The touch screen is not responsive although the display is clearly turned on. When I get the laptop into standby (e.g. by shutting it) and then activate it after a minute it usually allows me to log in and work normally on it. I already disabled the fast boot option. My graphics card is an Intel HD Graphics 5500 that has the latest drivers from the Lenovo site. When I am in safe mode and reboot, the problem does not occur.

 

 

The problem is really annoying, I appreciate any sort of help.

Hi. Welcome to the forum.

 

It can be interesting to know the full model number of your Thinkpad Yoga 12.

But I always recommend having your driver and BIOS up to date just in case.

 

Check out to see if the article gives you a solution, if it does not work, post back and let's see if we update some drivers to see if works.

Hello,

 

with model number, do you mean the serial number? The support site says my machine type is 20DL. The other website does not provide any help to me, as my touch screen is not responsive at all whereas in the document it is listed as a possible workaround.

 

I tried to boot live Debian from a USB flash drive to see if a reboot works there, but somehow I was not able to get my device to booting from USB.

 

Do you really think this could be a driver issue?

 

This is so annoying, I usually like Lenovo products but such a bug is just not acceptable. Especially given the fact, that there seemingly is no easy solution to it.

I already tried the last method but somehow DISM did not work. If it is really the Anniversary Update causing the issue, how can I fix it?

I have the exact same issue on my Yoga 900 with Windows 10 x64.

 

Normal Boot -> OK

Standby and wake -> OK

Reboot Windows -> NOT OK -> Windows Shuts down and screen goes black.

 

Ill fix this by just pressing short the power button. The device shuts off.

Pressing the key short again brings me to the login screen.

 

Any hints/news?
