Can I recover my data from a crashed hard drive (since it is solid state?)

After upgrading to Windows 10, my computer didn't behave well. Then it simply died. Looks like the "port" where one plugs in the power supply fell apart, so it likely shorted out. (it went black and won't boot). Have replaced the defective port and power supply, as well as a new battery, yet nothing happens. I suspect it is "fried." Given it is a solid state hard drive, can I somehow recover my data from the hard drive?  Your help much appreciated!

Hello and welcome,

There shouldn't be any difference recovering data from an SSD compared to a HDD - depending on form factor.

If you'd tell us what model laptop you have someone can probably recommend an adapter (2.5" SATA, mSATA, m.2, etc to USB) that would let you access your files.
