Error Code WHD000000-RM7BMD

Hi,

I was scanning my Lenovo S1 Thinkpad with the Companion app and I got the following error code: WHD000000-RM7BMD

It looks like it failed the TEST_TARGETED_READ_TEST

Any idea about what it means? I have a message stating that I should contact the support following the instruction at the bottom of the test results window and provide the code, but there is no option to do this.

Thank you

Re: Error Code WHD000000-RM7BMD

Hi sceid,

Warm Greetings & welcome to Lenovo Community, happy to have you here.

As I understand that you have query regarding error code which you are getting while running hardware scan in your ThinkPad S1.

Sadly, the HDD is failing so backup all your data from HDD and contact Lenovo for a replacement drive

I hope the above information helped you.

Please feel free to post in Lenovo Community Forums if you have any further queries!

Regards,
Prabhansh

Re: Error Code WHD000000-RM7BMD

Failing the Targed Read Test essentially means that the drive has areas of the drive that are unreadable, which usually points to the drive failing, so if the system is under warranty, I would definitely open a warranty claim and get the drive replace, but in any case, backup you important data immediately.

Best of luck,

Unfortunately, you need to purchase the new HDD on you own to fix. And currently HDD is somewhat better so that you can backup all the important data from it but eventually it is gonna fail so consider replacing it.

Well luckily a new HD is not very expensive, and you could breath new life into your system by replacing it with an SSD drive for a bit more.

Best of luck,

Re: Error Code WHD000000-RM7BMD

 and JDGillis for your answers.

I am going to backup all my data as soon as possible and buy myself a new SSD, my Yoga S1 is still doing great and it's definitely worth an upgrade!
