Ghost Touches, Yoga 15, Lenovo hardware

Seems like the LG monitors had this problem, but I'm here to say that it's a problem for the Lenovo monitors as well. My touch screen will register multiple random touches over several seconds, opening apps, closing apps, switching windows, and making the computer unusable. The LG firmware patch doesn't apply, and this has been an intermittent problem (naturally I'm a few months out of warranty).

  1. Is there a fix? Restarting and cleaning the screen have had no effect.
  2. Oh god, just please make it stop! How do I disable touchscreen inputs (grrrrrrrrr!)?

Re: Ghost Touches, Yoga 15, Lenovo hardware

Hi there, Jeebus           -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Ghost touches on the screen are most of the time caused by a faulty digitizer (this is the touch screen panel that enables touchscreen functionality) or the Touch panel module (LED panel w/ Touch).

Also click here for better understanding.

Can you try the following?

  1. Under theDevice ManagerHuman Interface Devices, can you do a right click and disable on anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen).

  1. When finished, reboot the system and observe if you still get the same issue.

Update us how it goes.
