Internal Pen Holder/Charger Part number?

2019-04-09, 15:52 PM

I have a Yoga 14 ThinkPad that I purchased from Best Buy a few years ago. I have to say it is the BEST work laptop I have ever had.  Recently the pen has stopped working so I ordered a new one. It didn't work either. Since the machine is out of warranty, I opened and discovered the cause.  The internal pen hold copper connecters that would charge the battery are broken and bent.  I verified this by charging my pen on a family member's laptop (I bought a couple because I love it so much) and it worked fine. It seems like an easy enough fix to replace this.  However, I cannot figure out the correct part number.  Is it

00JT921 or 00JT922? Is the only difference the color?  Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Evilmrspock! Welcome to our forums community. Sorry for the delay. The part is almost the same so you can use both. You can buy it from our authorized part reseller: https://lenovo.encompass.com/item/10651733/Lenovo/00JT921/ or https://lenovo.encompass.com/item/10651732/Lenovo/00JT922/. I hope that helps.

Sometimes, the pins just get stuck in the depressed position.  You can try the following:

Unplug the machine and disable the battery in the BIOS

Remove the bottom cover

Poke at the 2 contacts with something like a wooden toothpick to release them.
