Re: Issue with end key after repair - old system board?
I have just received my thinkpad yoga back from the repair center. They changed the keyboard and system board.
Now the end key is only accessible through the "Fn-End" combination - and this whether or not the Fn-Lock option is used. So to be clear, the only way to get the "end" function is by pressing Fn AND end together - whatever the state of Fn-Lock.
I found some info on the web saying this is linked to the BIOS version (with apparently Lenovo screwing it up in an "upgrade" and then fixing it). However, I am currentyl at BIOS version 1.15, which is the latest one for my version (B0...) if I understand correctly.
I am really not happy because I purchased my thinkpad in Sept 2014 and after repair, it came back with a system board that was apparently manufactured in 2013-09. I am not 100% certain of the date of my previous system board, but given that I had never experienced this "end key issue I suspect it was a more recent one.
I would appreciate some input on 2 things:
- what is the simplest way to get my "end" key back without pressing Fn, when Fn lock is used?
- should I be worried about getting a replacement system board from 2013? For example is the CMOS battery that old too, and will it die faster?
Thanks!
