Lenovo Yoga S1 (20CD) - will a stylus work with this model?

Hi all,
Recently bought the Lenovo Yoga S1 (20CD) 2-in-1 laptop.

I was wondering if anybody knows whether it will work with a stylus? And if so, is there a specific brand of stylus it would work with?

I have tried it with a Medion writing pad stylus and a Panasonic tough book stylus, and it doesn't work.

It has a "dummy" stylus on the bottom right corner.

I'm wondering whether certain models simply do not work with a stylus (even though the touch screen works).

Any suggestions or advice is much appreciated Smiley Happy

Re: Lenovo Yoga S1 (20CD) - will a stylus work with this model?

Hi,

i have the 20 CD model also, and mine is working fine with the pen what is delivered with the machine. ( little plastic pen with red top)

is your screen working with your fingertip, as i saw on the forum that not all are with the touchscreen.

I installed wacom drivers and they work fine, even the erase button works!

i still love the machine after 4 years using it!

only problems i have is a ghost image staying on the screen, and the most used USB connector is getting worn, but this is to expensive to have iT repaired, as the machine is out of warranty.

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah the screen is working no troubles.

I think I don't have the wacom drivers and definitely didn't get a stylus with the machine it self but I ordered one off ebay.

Hope fully it works.

did you have to do any thing else with it to make it work?

No, it normally it works oke with the drivers from lenovo.

I think i installed the wacom drivers after looking up on the forum why the button was not working, and there was said that with the wacom driver you could define what it should do.

I am running on windows 10 now and it is working fine for me.

Re: Lenovo Yoga S1 (20CD) - will a stylus work with this model?

So I have tried a variety of styluses:

- one with just the soft tip and a body that looks like mental,

- one that is an actual pen with a soft tip,

- one that is a so-called active capacitive pen that has to be charged and turned on with a soft tip as well that is quite fine,

- and finally a pen with the tip that looks like a small disc that I bought from Officeworks in Australia for $50.

While all of them work to some extent, this I think the screen is not sensitive enough for handwriting work even doing mathematics problems and taking handwritten notes.

By the way, all of these pans work excellently on my Samsung Galaxy S5.

Because my laptop did not come with the stylus it might indicate that it does not have a digitiser.

Thanks for your help and comments.

I think you mixed up with the stylus.

The lenovo stylus is a hard tip stylus!

the ones you are using is for samsung/ipad etc. (I think capacitive screen)

You write that it sometimes works, but not to your satisfaction, it will probably also react to your fingertip, this means you have the touch screen ( digitizer?)

i'am sure that if you use the correct pen, with the correct drivers it will satify you.

Maybe you have to calibrate (progrm inside windows) for making it precize, but it should work.

I dont use it all the time, but it comes in handy making a drawing or some notes sometimes.

Pen also reacts to pressure, when i press a little harder it gives me 5mm lines, but also possible to draw a line of .5mm

i dont know( not tested) but maybe try a nintendo ds stylus as they look similar.

luc

Re: Lenovo Yoga S1 (20CD) - will a stylus work with this model?

Important Question. What Stylus will it work with other than the included one.

I am asking because the included stylus is too thin and giving me hand pain so I need a bulkier pen. Help!

As said before, i am not using the pen on daily basis, i only have the standard pen and looked not into buying an other pen.

Maybe search the forum, as i think this question will be asked many times.

It worked well with the adonit pro which is quite bulky.

Not perfect but does the job adequately
