I have used a general purpose capacitive touch pen on mine, and it works (a cheap one that a friend had for his iPad, looks like this

http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?q=capacitive+touch+pen&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&tbo=d&biw=1613&bih=846&tbm=isch&tbnid=vdYezFGFNmPF_M:&imgrefurl=http://www.androidfiguren.de/Pen-for-Novo7&docid=Qo4kc1QFRzR0zM&imgurl=http://www.androidfiguren.de/WebRoot/Store12/Shops/62924100/5018/DAAB/5B21/6D7C/7558/C0A8/28B9/6A8B/Capacitive-Touch-Screen-Stylus-Pen-photo-show1.jpg&w=480&h=360&ei=l33SUP6uOsKHmQWQpIHQCA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=1175&vpy=427&dur=391&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=154&ty=121&sig=111243801064413820796&page=1&tbnh=142&tbnw=212&start=0&ndsp=46&ved=1t:429,r:25,s:0,i:168 ). It had a huge nose, and wasnt 100% reliable (prob around 95%), so I thought it was pretty gimicky. Dunno if it would be useful for writing notes, probably be more suited to mimic finger gestures, and playing around on paint with.

But in short, to answer your question, yes, some capicitive stylus' do work.

The Capacitive Stylus' don't accomplish the same tasks though. For instance, writing in Onenote. A Capacitive stylus is similar to writing with a magic marker vs. a pressure sensitive stylus which writes like a pen. I have seen some iPad stylus' that now connect via Bluetooth to add the capabilities. Anything like that work with Windows 8???

It work well, it's not like a digitizer but I can annotate pdf and it work well. My hand writing is also well recognize. It's not pressure sensitive, but to take note, it's perfect, a lot more precise than the big ones.

We are planning on ordering one to try on both the Twist and on the iPad. Does anyone know if Adonit is working on bluetooth compatibility with Windows 8? That would be fantastic!

But when using such a pen, won't the palm of your hand confuse the application? (Because the screen in 'touch' sensitive.)
