My USB ports became more and more flakey over the past few months. Often the device was recognised but would not enumerate a COM port. I tried recently to update new chipset drivers and now devices are not recognised at all.
I have tried installing the drivers on the Lenovo page but to no effect. I have a feeling I installed an older Intel chipset driver which may have caused problems, in any case re-installing the chipset driver on the Lenovo page makes no difference.

The error given in the device manager is code 43 and "A USB Port Reset Request Failed". I can't find any information on that particular error code.
