ThinkPad Twist (s230u): Auto-rotate is not working properly

Question

The laptop does not seem to be aware of the mode that the screen is in, in particular tablet mode. As a result of this, the screen lock button's function does not change from causing a 180 landscape flip to disabling/enabling auto rotate.

Answer

This apply to the model (Models 3347 and 20C4).

 

The solution to the auto-rotate problems is to download and install the following:

 

1.  New BIOS 1.61:

        http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032000

 

2.  New Power Management Driver 1.67.03.13:

       http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032258

If you check the device management does it say that your HID-controller is offline or reporting error?
You can check it trough Lenovo own hardware check also...
