ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

I learned that the digitizer with Helix cannot be used as an eraser, does the ThinkPad Yoga digitizer have the same problem? Thanks

Re: ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

the digitiser pen on Helix, TPT2 and Yoga all lack the traditional eraser function of the traditional ThinkPad X series tablet. There is a side button on the digitiser pen, which you can use for eraser function.

Alternatively, get the X series tablet digitiser pen which has an eraser function, they work with the ThinkPad Yoga (and is what i am using now).

Re: ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

It does not.

However the x series pen is far better to work with on the yoga.

Re: ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

Dear Jin Li,

Could you show me how to reprogram the side button of the digitizer for eraser functioning? I could not find any way to change it via Control Panel.

Thanks for your help,

Loc.

Download and install the Wacom Feel driver from the link below, then go into your control panel and select 'Pen Tablet Properties'.

Re: ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

Dear Jin Li,

Thanks a lot for your quick help. After installing the driver and modifying the option in "Pen Tablet Properties", I still cannot use the button as eraser in OneNote 2013. I have tried your suggestion, as well as change options of both button in "Pen Tablet Properties" to "Erase", without success. In OneNote, the button has no effect at all; previously, when I have not changed anything, there appeared a circle when I pushed the button.

I wonder if it is because the digitizer of Thinkpad Yoga has only one button, versus there are two in the setup of Wacom Feel Driver.

Cheers,

Loc.

Re: ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

I've never been able to set the primary button on the x230t stylus to erase and can confirm the driver doesn't allow the tpy stylus button to be used as eraser in one note.

Re: ThinkPad Yoga Digitizer Question

On my ThinkPad Yoga, I've been able to use the button on the included stylus to switch to eraser mode in OneNote 2013. I found that it will only switch modes while the stylus is away from the screen. So if I lift the pen so the hover-cursor goes away, press and hold the button while brining the pen close, it'll be in eraser mode. Then, to take it out of eraser mode, I let go of the button, lift the pen away, and bring it back.

It's a little odd that the mode is 'locked' based on whether the button is pressed or not when its first brought close to the screen, but it works.

I'm using the Wacom Feel driver, and the button is set to 'eraser' in the control panel.
