I took it out of the package, plugged it in (because it was dead for some reason), and turned it on but it won't boot. It just keeps giving me this error message saying that Windows could not complete installation. I press ok and it just restarts and comes up again.

Hi, welcome to the forum.
I haven't experienced that issue. What I would try to do is:
1) Just in case, not sure if it will work, I will use the "emergecy reset hole" just to be sure that the machine is rebooting completely.
2) I'm not sure if it would work, but I would try to boot Windows in recovery mode, and made do a full recovery of the Windows 10 image.
Some different ways on how to access in recovery mode are listed here, not sure if Windows will allow you to access on the install phase you are right now: http://www.digitalcitizen.life/4-ways-boot-safe-mode-windows-10
3) Another idea will be to try to boot from an USB with Windows and check the options to repair the Windows installation. You can download Windows 10 from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
4) And my last option will be to try a fresh install of Windows 10 with the same USB flash drive, and after that install the drivers from the Lenovo support site of your model.
I hope this can give you some hints.
