Thinkpad S440 - Loose screws on hard drive

2016-11-22, 11:50 AM

I recently had a problem with my Thinkpad S440 that I purchased 1,5 year ago.

At some point it was not able to boot up for no apparent reason. As the warranty was no longer valid I had it expertised.

The expertise showed that the screws on the hard drive were loose and one of them started to move inside of the laptop, causing a short circuit on the motherboard.

Anyone ever had that problem ? Any idea on what I should do ?

It seems to me that it is a huge problem of fabrication which I would not be able to avoid by myself...

Sorry for my bad english and thank you for your answers.

sorry man that sucks. Id go to ebay and replace the motherboard on the cheap and put new screws in everything. You can get whole kits for all the screws in a lenovo laptop and its pretty cheap, or at least cheaper then having this issue again.
