I downloaded Windows 10 and now my Microphone for recording in OneNote will not work. It states the device cannot be located.
What can I do to fix it?
Thanks!

No there is nothing there. I have been using the microphone to record meeting up until I downloaded Windows 10.

I fixed this by uninstalling the Lenovo Conexant drivers for the speakers and the sound controller from within device manager and rebooting. The microphone reappeared. I let Win 10 install its own HD sound drivers and all was well.

Ok. I'm going to try it.
Thanks!

As a (hopefully) final twist to the tale, Win 10 has now installed Conexant specific drivers in place of the Microsoft HD Audio ones. Looking at the event history the new drivers "outrank" the generic ones. The Conexant drivers are signed by Microsoft, not Conexant.
Crucially, the microphone remains in place after this latest update.

Lenovo has posted a solution for Yoga 12 laptops experiencing a problem with microphones after upgrading to Windows 10. It can be found here: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/documents/SF15-T0
The latest audio driver can be downloaded here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds103694
Thank you,
