Thinkpad Yoga 12

Hi Lenovo Community,

 

Recently bought Yoga 12 from Amazon. One strange behaviour observed. Mouse and Keypad suddenly stops responding.

 

Still trying to figure out solution. Kindly guide accordingly!

Hi

 

Are you using Windows 10? Have you tried the latest BIOS and mouse drivers from your models support site?

Yes I am using windows 10. Bios is already updated. Thinkvantage system update never asked me to update synaptics driver so I assume it's latest.

 

Yesterday tried resetting pc and issue is still there. Feeling frustrated and annoyed as it stopped 5-10 times during my office work.

It shows I am using the latest synaptics driver and this issue is literally driving me nuts! Annoyance and frustration as well during work!

There is a known issue with the Yoga 12 touchpad/keyboard.

 

Basically the touchpad cable isn't insulated where the bracket is that runs the P-Sensor cable along it and it pinches causing an intermittent stop/start of the touchpad, keyboard and pointer function.

 

Seeing as it needs to be replaced I would just contact Lenovo stating you have this issue and reference Document ID:  HT116650, Alias ID: SF15-T0095

 

Which states the cable will need to be replaced with part number 01AY543

(I've already replaced about 300 of these cables, due to the same issue on our Yoga 12's so I'm sure this is what you're seeing)

Dear,

 

Now I am stuck and need opinion from community to make my life easy.

 

I have downgraded to Windows 7 and it is working without any issues so far.

 

Other option is I return laptop as such it is to Amazon for refund.

 

Third option is returning to Lenovo support USA as recently suggested. Now I am not sure how to get it done since I am in Saudi Arabia rightnow.

 

Pls help as I really want to carry on with Windows 10 on Yoga 12 for its full potential.

Further updates as per 1-29-2017 ......

 

Not working on Windows 7 as well.

 

I have decided to return it to Amazon.
