Thinkpad Yoga 260 and Intel 18265?

Is Lenovo 18265 whitelisted in TPY 260 BIOS? I know they came with 8260/18260 from the factory, but other Thinkpad Yogas from the same era have 18265 option, so maybe I'm in luck and there is a whitelist entry? How could I know for sure?

Re: Thinkpad Yoga 260 and Intel 18265?

Hi.

It is hard to tell if the Intel 18265 is whitelisted to work on a Yoga 260, maybe it is because Lenovo can not test every single adapter to it's machine.  So generally we only rely on the approved part numbers for wireless cards to be sure. (that is what Lenovo formally approves).

The only way to be sure is to try it on the machine, so it may be good if you have the chance to buy the adapter and return it if it did not work for you.

Maybe someone with more experience can comments on this subject.

Regards

Re: Thinkpad Yoga 260 and Intel 18265?

I found numerous references that Thinkpads starting with 50 series no longer have WLAN whitelist, only WWAN - but no solid confirmation behind them. So is it true, or just rumors?
