Re: Thinkpad Yoga F1 LED constantly on

I have the same issue. What's interesting is that when I first purchased the Lenovo Thinkpad, it was working fine. I upgraded it to Windows 8.1 Pro from Windows 8, with a clean install, guided step-by-step with Microsoft, and shortly thereafter I noticed that the LED light for the f1 key was always illuminated regardless of the on or off state of the mute function.

I tried calling the Microsoft store where I purchased the machine and they refered me to Lenovo. I tried calling Lenovo but they are only open during business hours, so I will try back tomorrow. I will definitely be putting in a ticket regarding this issue as I find it distracting.

If anyone finds a solution, please let me know. If I find one, I will try to post here if I have time.

Re: Thinkpad Yoga F1 LED constantly on

OK, I think I have the solution for y'all, since I had the same problem after installing a fresh copy of Win8.1 on an SSD.

Download and install the Hotkeys Integration for Windows 8.1:

Worked like a charm for me.

This package provides the utilities (sub packages) related for the special
keys and buttons on your computer. The special keys and buttons are designed
  on the accessibility and usability.
The utilities enable the full functionality for the special keys and buttons.

Re: Thinkpad Yoga F1 LED constantly on

Hope this is okay to bump, since this was a problem I just had on my Thinkpad Yoga today after the same thing.

And what do you know, a fresh install of the "hotkeys features integration" for Windows 10 worked for me as well!

Re: Thinkpad Yoga F1 LED constantly on

I had the same annoying Problem with another Thinkpad Device,

F1 Led constantly on and therefor no sound.

I got it fixed by just booting a Live Linux-Distribution. There, the FN+F1 Button were working properly.

I disabled the F1 Led, shut down and rebootet the normal Windows and since then

it's working fine.

For the next time, the Linux-Live-CD Workaround takes about 2 minutes.

Hope, this is helpful for anybody.
