As I mentioned in my post 12-20-2013 above my issue is something slightly different than the thread topic. My issue is not related to sleep mode, but rather "screen off" and I only have this problem when I connect to my Sandberg USB 3.0 hub.
Can you clarify is this also related to a hardware issue?

Check if the USB port is broken and is giving a short-circuit signal, which makes the display to turn off.
Is the display turning off even when the system is connected to an AC adapter?
Have you tried the same device on some other system and checked if it’s working fine there?
Maybe a corrupted USB driver is causing the issue. Try reinstalling the same.
Hope this helps!

I exchanged my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro for another one (Best Buy didn't give me any problem whatsover).
The second came pre-installed with Windows 8.1. And so far, it has no problem waking up from sleep mode.
Now I have another problem: I was listening to a music website and the audio stopped for no reason. This has happended twice. The sound won't start on the website, youtube, or anyplace. I've checked all the volume controls. What's up with that? I can't win with this Yoga.....

I've received my ThinkPad Yoga yesterday (20CD) and let it turned on for the night. Power adapter plugged in, nothing else.
This morning, the power light (above the I) was turned ON and not blinking. So it wasn't in sleep mode like it should have.
The MIC mute light and the keyboard backlight where also ON.
Power button didn't do anything (hold it for 30 sec.). I tried to close the lid wait and reopen it. tryd to play with the mouse ands keyboard. nothing worked.
The bottom of the laptop was a little warm, so the CPU wasn't in sleep mode.
I didn't have time to wait for the battery to die. So I openned the case and disconnected it. Everything is fine for now. But I don't want to crack open my laptop everythime!
Did domeone found a solution for this issue?

Update again. Ok, it's been over a week since I replaced the defective Yoga with a new one.
The old one came with Windows 8.0, which I upgraded to 8.1. Even after loading all the new drivers from the Yoga website, the old Yoga refused to wake from sleep, without a hard boot from the power button.
The good news is that the new Yoga, which came pre-loaded with 8.1 works like a charm. It can sleep all night, and will automatically start up as soon as a press any key, or touch the Windows button. Finally.
The other problem with the audio stopping, has also to do with Windows, and which windows are open in the desktop or the metro mode. If I close all the other windows, then the single window with the audio will work.
I'm still not a fan of his Windows 8.

yes they told me that the problems are due to windows 8.1, so they said i shoud install windows 8... I think that is a really lame response for the problems that they shoud fix
