THANK YOU SO MUCH for this!! This fixed the issue for me. It had been driving me up a frickin wall to have to reboot the computer just to wake it up. I made the change a few days ago and have had zero problems since. Now the laptop wakes up if I simply close and open the lid. Doesn't matter if I manually told it to "sleep" or if it went to sleep on its own.
>I solved without any software or bios updating/rollbacks.
>Here is how:
>Press windows key + X
>Open device manager.
>Click system devices.
>Right click "Intel management engine interface" and open properties.
>Click on power management tab and uncheck "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
>That's it... your pc should now wake from sleep and not build heat while sleeping
