Thinkpad pen compatibility

Hi folks,

I have a Thinkpad Yoga 12 and the stylus works fine. However, I'm interested in getting an active pen.

I see on the Lenovo compatibility list that the ThinkPad Pen Pro will work with the Yoga 12.

What I can't find out is if the Thinkpad Pen Pro 2 or 3 will work, also? If I have the choice, I might buy a newer model.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yoga 12? The 2015 model? (Also known as Yoga 250)

2015 sounds about right. It says "Yoga 12" right on the hinge. I7, 8gb RAM ..

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

Did your laptop come with an active stylus?

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

But actually . . Probably not.

It's just the yoga 12.

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

What do you have in right-lower corner of your laptop, below the power button?

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

It has a stylus that is stored in the laptop body/right side. I assume this is *passive" stylus? No power, no better. Works fine.

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

If it has a red tip, it should be an active stylus. I have 2014 model, the Thinkpad Y1 Yoga (S240) and its stylus is active.  Try it in OneNote or Autodesk Sketchbook. And it uses AAAA (yes, 4xA) battery.

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

Thanks for answering. I have assumed that there is no battery in the stylus. I'll check when I get home ... I'm thinking it doesn't but I could be wrong.
