Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

Hello,

I hope it is OK if add my question to this thread... I'm also looking for a new Pen for my ThinkPad Yoga 12, but I can't find any information about what kind of pens I can use. I read something about EMR- and AES-Technology, but couldn't find what technology my TP is compatible with.

Also, those so called "ActvePens", what kind of technology do they use?

My Serialnumer is: xxxxx

Productnumber: 20DKA01HUK

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Thinkpad pen compatibility

I'm pretty well tapped out on the subject. As best I can tell, as stated in earlier posts -- if your TP came with a stylus -- it is a passive, EMR stylus. I have seen no indication that a so-called "active" stylus will work, but I can't prove a negative. There has been a general change between 2015 or so and now in the technology.

As I said, the Fujitsu Lifebook stylus I bought works fine. I am guessing that the older EMR styli in general will work. I brought my TP into Staples and Best Buy and tried/tested what they had available, which wasn't much. Nothing worked.
