Touch Pad

I am unable to turn off the touch pad on my ThinkPad Yoga 11E.  I have been through all the normal methods but none offer the disable function.  I want to be able to use the mouse while the touch pad is off.  What is the solution?

Re: Touch Pad

Hi.

Welcome to the forums.

Can you please specify the full model number of your Thinkpad to help you find a newer driver?

In my case (depending on the model), when you access "Control Panel - Mouse" you can see on the last tab the feature to disable/enable the trackpoint or the touchpad.

Also, depending on the model you can also disable the touchpad or the trackpoint on the machine BIOS.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Regards

Re: Touch Pad

I wish and I would expect the process to be as you suggest.  However those options are not available on my ThinkPad.  Lenovo has requested it be returned for a software change of some sort.  I was somewhat surprised that they wanted me to pay for my "repair" on a brand new laptop under one year warranty!!
