USB Recovery Tools Not Working

2019-12-29, 12:25 PM

Hi,

So I created a usb with recovery tools and inserted that into my lenovo to make it go the recovery process.. Here's what happened:

I entered the F12 menu and tried two paths:

1. Install Windows: I don't have a product key so I opted for that option, then at selecting the partition where I need to install Windows none works and it gives me error 0x80300002

So I tried to install from the usb I have but the system can't find it!! Or if it can it can't read it..

So I decided to go through option..

2. Repair: from there I selected troubleshoot, which displayed another menu (screenshot attached) but no option to install from drive.

Then I tried several of the options in that menu but nothing works..

Back to install.. I tried to delete the partitions already there but the process failed as well..

I really don't know what to do and I'm not sure why the install process is not working.. I appreciate an explanation and a way to fix this.. I don't always have a spare laptop so I can't keep trying random recovery options from windows.. Please help.

Thank you

Hi ,

Welcome to the Community,

Try this link https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/ddstools.gdi.lenovo/win8/USBRecoveryCreator.exe as it will give you a media creator kit. All the details is shown here https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/HT103653

After creating the Lenovo USB Recovery key, the USB key can be used to reinstall Microsoft Windows® at any time on the computer models for which it was created. To use the USB key, insert the USB key into the Lenovo computer on which you want to restore the operating system. Then, restart the computer to begin the recovery process.

You can also download an ISO image from microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.
