Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

I am having similar issue. If I use a bluetooth mouse, my wifi keeps disconnecting. If I don't, it runs fine. Its so annoying. I bought thinkpad for its 'business class' tag, and this wasn't what I expected.

Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

hey rajendraee, there is a workaround that worked for me: change your router settings from bgn to bg. With my product it worked (there seemed to be an issue with the n frequency) I tried a USB wlan device and had no problem with the bgn frequency. So if I need a connection rate >54 Mbit/s I use my USB device - which is working, but, as you say, it is still not what you expect for 1.5k €.... hope that helps, caspare

Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

I am assuming there isnt the discovery.exe file running? This was the killer issue a few months ago that knocked out wifi (and the lan you were on!) a few months ago. Lenovo say they removed it but i do still wonder.

Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

No discovery file. I did see those posts in regards to that issue. I have
called Lenovo support 6x now and they continually fail to fix the issue and
even tried to blame the software and try to get me to pay $100 to fix it,
when I have a screen shot saying that it's a realtek hardware problem. I
have to restart the computer numerous times whenever I need to use the
internet.

I'll never buy another Lenovo again.

I agree with your feelings for Lenovo support which is why despite liking the product I never recommend to others to buy a Lenovo.
If you get a fix post on this site as it's the only form of support to Lenovo users.

Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

I got a new thinkpad S1 Yoga a couple of days back and i am facing the same wifi connectivity issues.

When I log onto the machine i am able to connect to the 5GHz bandwidth and after 5 minutes or so it gets disconnected. once it gets disconnected i am not able to connect to any other wifi signal.

I looked at the solution posted earlier about un installing the lenovo ECM storage but my machine did not come with that software(not sure why)

is there any other way to solve this problem.

Thanks,

Anand

Is the discovery.exe service removed?

Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

I have tried all solutions which have been posted in various websites, like for example - unchecking the box which says turn of device to save power under the advanced settings of the wireless card.

the problem still persists.

Any help on this would be much appreciated

Thanks,

Anand

Re: WiFi on ThinkPad Yoga stops working after a few minutes [Solved]

Like Anand I've started having this issue as of yesterday, and no sign of teh Discovery.exe or other software going amok.  I've disabled as many services and programs as possible, checked power settings, nothing works.  If I'm not on AC (plugged-in) power, sometimes the WiFi adapter won't even show up as active - like the machine doesn't even have a network card installed.  Very frustrating.
