YOGA S1 HDMI mini port recognizes display but doesn't send any signal

Hello.

I own the thinkpad yoga s1 and it's the first time I tried to use the mini HDMI port.

I connected the laptop using a mini hdmi to hdmi cable (used two different cables).

After I connected the cable the pc recognized the display (toshiba lcd)  but it didn't send any signal and all I got was a blue screen.

Do you think it's a software problem or a hardware? and what can I do?

(I'm using windows 8).

Thanks for the help

Re: YOGA S1 HDMI mini port recognizes display but doesn't send any signal

have you tried the Toshiba LCD with any other machines? Also have you tried updating the BIOS firmware and drivers of your ThinkPad Yoga? Use ThinkVantage System Update to download the latest drivers.

Re: YOGA S1 HDMI mini port recognizes display but doesn't send any signal

hello.

thank you for the fast reply.

I used the thinkVantage and upgraded everything to latest drivers.

Still I encountered the same problem, my thinkpad recognizes the display but doesn't send any signal.

I used a different screen (panasonic LCD) that I know that there is nothing wrong with it.

Any thoughts about what to do next?

Do you think it's a software problem?

thank you.
