Hello, I am attempting to use the mini display port outpt on the Thinkpad Yoga14 to connect to an HDMI monitor using a miniDP to HDMI adapter. I've tried two different adapters. The monitor is never recognized. However, the mini-display port will work with a miniDP to DVI or miniDP to VGA adapter cable (I verfied this at a store where there were multiple cables and monitors to use).
miniDP to HDMI: does not work
miniDP to DVI: works
miniDP to VGA: works
Has anyone else seen this problem?

Hi.
I'm not complete sure about the issue, but I would try some "trial and error" to see if something can be done.
1) Can you try just in case some other monitor or a TV with the miniDP to HDMI adapters you have?
2) Try other HDMI cables just in case.
3) Give it also a try if there is an update to the driver. Here it is some for the TP Y 14 - Intel Display Driver for Windows 10 (64-bit) - ThinkPad Yoga 14 (Type 20DM, 20DN)
Does you model also have Nvidia and Intel graphic cards on the same machine?
It can also be usefull to know the full model number of your Thinkpad. Maybe it is something long like "20DM008UUS", check out some instructions to find your model number here.

Hello Martin thanks for replying.
1) I have tried multiple adapters and monitors / TVs
2) I have tried multiple cables as well
3) Video cards are:
Intel HD Graphics 520. Driver version 20.19.15.4404
NVIDIA GeForce 940M. Driver version 10.18.13.5445
Model of thinkpad is 20FY0002US
I did have the most recent drivers, but some new drivers were just released on 8/24. I will try and update the drivers.
Thanks.

The solution is here https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Mini-Displayport-not-working-on-new-Bes...
I ran into the same problem, and the solution is bad news. MiniDP->HDMI is not supported on the 20FY.

Thanks for the link! This was the conclusion I had come to, but it's great to have it confirmed.

Cool. What did you do instead? Im waiting for a MiniDP->DP cable to arrive.
Do you know if both the HDMI and MiniDP ports can be used at the same time to provide 3 displays concurently? (including the built-in LCD)

I'm just using 1 monitor right now (HDMI to HDMI). I do not know if three monitors can be used at once. I don't own a monitor with a display port input, so I can't check for you.
