Yoga 260 Thinkpad key stuck

I have been working with a user that experiences a problem with his \ key on the built in keyboard on his Yoga 260.

When he reboots his PC it acts like its being held down when he gets to his log in screen, also if his pc sits for a while it will happen and move him out of his screen saver.

He can tap the key once and it will stop.

We have cleaned they key and it doesnt seem to be physically sticking and when using normally its not an issue.

I have reseated the keyboard ribbon cable...

I have reinstalled drivers, also ran all the driver updates from the System Update utility.

It happens both docked and undocked.

Has anyone heard of such a thing?

Re: Yoga 260 Thinkpad key stuck

It is almost certainly not the cable.  Are you still under warranty?

If not, replacing the keyboard is a poor job.  You, basically, remove everything else, and the last things you get to are the keyboard and palmrest.

Re: Yoga 260 Thinkpad key stuck

I am under warranty and able to depot repair.

My fear was that being intermittent they may note that its working then send it back.

Its hard to imagine it being a hardware issue due to the nature of it working up until a reboot or sleep mode.

If I dont find a fix soon I may just depot it.

I think it's hardware, but I cannot be sure.
