We have number of users on different hardware. All are using Windows 10 64 bit (build 1607 or 1803) and MS Office 2016 64 bit. We are up to date with MS Patches.
About half of the users have Lenovo Desktops, about quarter have Carbon X1 and around 300 of our users have Yoga ThinkPad 260 or 370.
Out of a blue ONLY the Yoga users have the following problem (thus posting in this Forum):
When in Excel, create or open a file. click on File>Share>Email>Email as an attachement. An Outlook window opens with the file attached (it does not matter if the user is set to HTML, Rich or Plain text, we see the error everywhere). At this stage, the keyboard stops working in SOME sections, mostly in the middle (kjhgf keys, but not exclusively). In To: line, in subject line, in the body of the text. Everywhere. Sometimes a key would produce a letter on screen when hit repeatedly. Same issue with Yoga keyboard, touch on screen keyboard or external keyboard attached via a docking station.
This feature worked till recently. We tried to uninstall recent MS Patches pertaining to Excel (this does not happen with Word or PowerPoint sharing) but that did not help.
If/when we open only Excel and attempt to share, not a single key works in that message. The keyboard works flawlessly everywhere else. And we are not able to recreate it on any of our Carbon machines. When such a message is closed and saved in Drafts, it works once reopened.
