Yoga 260 mode 20FES0X105 - SSD NVMe PCIe or SATA only

2019-06-20, 13:00 PM

Hello,

i have Thinkpad Yoga 260, model number 20FES0X105

Does it suppoer NVMe PCIe ?

In tech specs there are some models with NVMe support, some are SATA only.

How can I check if my model supports NVMe ssd?

Or generally - Is there any public database where i can check exact config of any Thinkpad laptop according serial/model number (what type of display, if RAM is soldered on boards, etc..)

Thank you,

Hello,

20FE supports both PCIE3x4 M.2 SSD's as well as SATA.
Pull up your serial number (I pulled up your machine type, 20FE) on pcsupport.lenovo.com and go to parts and accessories. There, you'll see listed PCIE as well as SATA M.2 SSD's under the Solid State Drives category.

I have a 20FE and just installed an NVMe SSD...this thing flies! I can get read speeds of ~1200MB/s with a budget Corsair unit, for around $35 if you search on Amazon. Adding more RAM also never hurts either. So yes, it can be done.
