Yoga 370 cTDP extreme throttling

Is it possible to raise the cTDP of the Yoga 370?

Currently my i3 throttles at a low 60 degrees celsius because of a 10W cTDP. I am sure the cooling system can take a higher temperature of 70 degrees safely. I have used Throttlestop to confirm that the limit is due to cTDP and not temperature (i processors can run way hotter safely). When throttling at 10W my i3 (without Turbo Boost) cannot maintain clock speeds. I'm sure this is worse for those with i5 and above so please increase the cTDP. If 15W is too high maybe 12-13W instead of the current 10W will help a lot. My readings were taken when plugged in and on all high performance settings enabled.

This is important as with the 10W cTDP limit active, the CPU runs between 1.4-1.6ghz under load which is a drastic drop and not necessary since temperature is only 60 degrees celsius.

Re: Yoga 370 cTDP extreme throttling

Interesting info as I would like to buy a Thinkpad Yoga X380 which is the successor of the Yoga 370.

Can you post a screenshot of the ThrottleStop TPL tab?

I have a Thinkpad T420 with i7-2630QM. Lenovo locked everything in the ThrottleStop TPL tab but the power share option can be still accessed. I set it to CPU: 31 GPU: 0 when I need more CPU power and I set it to CPU: 0 GPU:31 when I need more GPU power. You could try that trick and see if distributing power share more toward the CPU could help the throttling behavior in the limited 10 watts cTDP.

Re: Yoga 370 cTDP extreme throttling

Can you click "package power" and set it to "max power". My T420 can do this and raise the power a bit. Can you screenshot the window after you click "TPL"  tab?

There you can see how Lenovo set the actual TDP. Thanks
