Yoga 370 microphone inaudible or very poor quality

2017-08-22, 10:41 AM

I've never gotten the microphone working in my Yoga 370. When using the standard "High definition audio device" driver it is impossible to use the microphone. Only electric noise is heard and it is impossible to make out any of the sound input. Example: https://www.dropbox.com/s/31zbppawd53mvz1/inaudible.mp3?dl=0

If I install the "Conexant SmartAudio HD"-driver instead output is the same.

If I, while using the Conexant-driver enable "Audio enhancements" in the microphone settings then it is possible to make out my voice, albeit still with a very poor quality: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9dkq9kgzy6cysch/poor%20quality.mp3?dl=0

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Hello all,

Have you contacted support and requested warranty service?

My 370 had a poor/noisy mic.  It was a pre-production unit with no warranty so I purchased a replacement mic/camera and replaced it myself.  Works fine now.

I can't say for sure that your machines have a similar situation but at least in my case software fiddling didn't fix it. It was a hardware problem.
